I think this pervasive sense of sadness and disappointment is still hanging over many Americans. The 10 of Swords teaches us a lot about moving on. Life changes, and it's up to us to change along with it or get left behind in a world that no longer exists.

There are many facets to the Hermit, but perhaps the key one today is his solitude, his withdrawal from the world around him. The Hermit teaches us that at times it is prudent to step away for a while. Retreat within today. Find your reserves of inner strength. Tomorrow will be a new day.

Our card today is the 7 of Wands. It's a card that suggests on-going challenges (sometimes it's a bit like playing whack-a-mole) but it also teaches us to stand fast, to hold on to what we believe is right, to honor our convictions. In the end, we can triumph.
