Article makes it sound like it was some incredible act of moral defiance when its just basically Republicans making a choice not to bend the knee and lose their seats from spreading their votes too thin in a badly thought out gerrymander in a state where they already have support to buck him.

Well, that's what he's arguing - that it should; it is too easy for people to lose everything for reasons that basically boil down to "I'm the boss", especially with not social safety net.

He definitely picked a... choice topic... to make the argument but I can see an argument.

To be entirely fair, the article is not saying that she shouldn't be fired, only that her case should have been investigated by appropriate authorities and she given the chance to defend herself rather than being let go out of hand due to public outcry.

Yeah, I'm gonna say you're being hopelessly naive. Racists take solidarity with themselves as something they are entitled to while never considering extending it to anyone else. But I come froma country with racism enshrined in the constitution so my opinions are extremely biased.
