CameraConnect DC, will allow police “to ping residents with private cameras about breaking crimes nearby, enabling them to quickly upload videos, potentially within minutes of an incident.”
At the system’s unveiling, Mayor Bowser “announced plans to add hundreds of additional surveillance cameras operated by the city, and a new effort to integrate thousands more cameras from private businesses, apartment complexes and homes throughout the District.”

There was no visible solar eclipse for us today, just overcast skies that slipped slowly into darkness. The swallows came back to their nest hours early and the field sounds went quiet in the middle of the afternoon.
