Gorgeous soft juicy citrus pale ale (from #GlasshouseBeerCo) without that pithy bitterness that ruins so many beers. It slips down like a sumo wrestler on a water slide.

Mrs Bell asked for a Blackcurrant Cheesecake Gose- I brewed a Damson Gose without lactose or oats or indeed blackcurrants, just pale malt, wheat & some sea salt. Oh & the 2kg of damsons have added a nice tart sourness but not as much fruit as expected. She may have noticed the difference!

Raining and windy here in North East England so I cleared all the leaves from the garden and driveway after going to the Dentist....then I had my own Damson beer.

Yes I've decided to drink up some well aged beers...this will be soon!

Kept for years...oak cask fermented blueberry tripel from Mikkeller. The tart fruit has moderated and the funky lambic and woody notes bring a nice dry finish. More like wine than beer and so much more complex than several years ago. 9.5% abv

A Gose from the Ile de Ré where they make a famous sea salt....which of course you can taste in this beer. Great little brewery on a lovely Island! Recommended for seafood and beer lovers as there is another great brewery on the Island.

The cheaper cooler Hautes Côtes de Nuit hills above & to the west of the very expensive villages of #Burgundy are benefiting from climate change. Great quality to price ratio. These are the upper and lower plots by Domaine #Montmain where we had an entertaining multi-vintage tasting.

This is the most disgusting thing that I've ever put in my mouth! You're looking at #P&O Ferries loaded Nachos. The amorphous tasteless green goo is meant to be guacamole the nachos are soggy as the whole mess has been microwaved. Nothing tastes of anything. I paid £5.75 not to eat it.

So here's a thing I didn't know....french beer drinkers like glass bottles & are very sceptical about canned beer! Fatch brewery ONLY can their beer & they've had customers walk away as a result!
It's seen as a newfangled thing!

Wonderful friendly welcome at this new Provençal Brewery getting established in 1st year. They kindly offered a tasting of the core range (Blonde, Blanche, IPA, Ambrée, & the ltd edition DDH NEIPA). The Blanche had an orange peel addition which was delicious!

The Dentelles de Montmorail are a dental shaped mountain range, extending south to Mont Ventoux, shielding a sunny garden for vinegrowing. Up on the slopes above famous neighbours #Vacqueyras & #Gigondas is the village of #Suzette. Gorgeous smooth subtle expression Rhône red wine!

Ninkasi brewery is 48km west of Lyon but they have two bars in central Lyon where I tried their beers en pression. Pas mal would be my verdict. Perfectly drinkable and better than a boring blond!

Final beer from the Brewery Mont Ventoux at Carpentras is the Tripel! A bit sweet and malty for me but completes the range! The IPA and the Blanche were the best!

Cycling up to Châteauneuf du Pape it struck me that it translated as Newcastle of the Pope. So at the top by the ruined castle we found a garden bar where we had craft beer & Newcastle wine! Haway the lads!
