I REQUIRE AID.

For real, I need a non-racist version of "oh no, Brere Bear, don't throw me into the briar patch"

My brain runs in references and that one is so algorithmically engrained that "twist my arm" or whatever won't budge it. #help

When... did I put this on the floor

To the woman who ran a stop sign directly in front of the police station:

Why.

It's the worst feeling in the world to be this glad that my father's dead. He loved this country so much, the history and promise of it, with such a strong sense of civic pride and responsibility

He was also an educator all his life. Thrived on helping people share that love and find their path

It's not nice that waking up to NPR is the auditory equivalent of doomscrolling now

Did I not take my night meds? Is that why I'm lying here mentally ranking TMBG songs that people HAVE to know to truly know my brain?

Siri, play "Why Must I Be Sad" by @tmbg.bsky.social but every time they would sing "sad" I want you to say "awake". can you do that for me

AI voice generation is getting scary good, but sometimes they hit you with a reeeeal alphabet soup of a word

Love love LOVE the feeling when I'm so stressed about one thing I should be doing that I can't do the OTHER things I should be doing. Like, wow. What a thrill.

Fact: there's a Dead Thing smell in the house

Fact: smell is intermittent, coming with the AC --BUT ONLY SOMETIMES

Fact: the humans and pets of the house are alive and accounted for

Concern: something's dead in a place we can't reach

I don't have a huge personal stake in the AI discourse, but I will say. As someone who regularly uses "whilst" in everyday sentences and literally read the thesaurus for fun as a kid

I resent my burgeoning assumption that anything written with fancy words is AI. I resent it, but it's there.

SUPER fun times working down a troubleshooting list of Why My Keyboard Didn't Work (Sometimes)

-Shift key sometimes didn't work with the letters J, K, L, M, and R
-Ctr key sometimes didn't work for keyboard shortcuts. Didn't figure whole list, but definitely not Cut/Copy/Paste or Select All

Currently, the Something Positive webcomic archives show 2001, 2002, and 2025. Nothing inbetween.

Trying to figure out if that's the website's fault or if I turned on more privacy settings and broke things

Let's play a game! The game is called "Wait and See if the Soured Drink Poisons Me" and it's super fun, you should try it

Oh for the simple days when iMacs came in six primary colors, Bill Gates was the richest man in the world, and our biggest tech stressor was realizing that two-digit years were a bad idea

I just spent Way Too Long researching browser privacy because of wildly conflicting recommendations

And this time when I say I "went down the rabbit hole" I mean I ended up on some kind of hacktivist fringe theory kill the capitalist cancer NEOCITIES website. Like STRAIGHT from y2k, I'm agog

Listening to Smosh Reddit stories is all fun and games until you get to the Journals. If you know you know

What... do you do when your cheap craft knife blade snaps and pings across the room and you can't find it

Asking for a friend

Apropos of nothing, what do we CALL these? "Tweet" is embedded in my brain but that's not it anymore. I'm defaulting to "post" and it feels lacking

I habitually proof-read everything before I send, but I just found two tragically uneditable posts with autocorrect errors

You'd think actually USING some of my hoarded Someday materials would make it harder not to hoard, but in reality it's easier now to recognize "yeah I used it --and shan't again"

I got on a Nick Lewis (no qualifications many opinions) home decor kick because I like hearing him talk, but got caught on the homedecor-to-organization-to-declutterring-to-selfsabotage pipeline. Like you do.
