It's the second-brightest star in the constellation Orion. Rigel is the brightest but you can distinguish them by their color (Rigel is blue, Betelgeuse is orange).

Ah, the lovely sodium orangeness... 🤮 Fortunately its wavelength is so narrow it can be filtered out, if you're into astrophotography. Totally disrupts eye viewing though.
