When stars from three of the biggest bands of your youth (Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman, R.E.M.‘s Mike Mills, and Hootie & the Blowfish’s Darius Rucker) form a supergroup and play their first-ever live show at a club two hours up the road, you go.

Always see the show.

This post in a FB group for the music fest in Louisville today; half the comments are “sanctuary city!” and “That’s why I never go into Louisville unless I have to” and other Fox-brained scary-big-city nonsense, the other half are the OP replying “Oh, this was at my hotel in Sellersburg, Indiana.”

I, for one, love Chris Cornell’s quiet cameo in the car-stereo scene from Singles. (And also his performance of “Birth Ritual” on stage in a rock club scene)

Yeah, I think I’m properly placed on the style axis (I’m semi-gothy on the inside, but dress as the suburban dad I am), though I’m probably weighted too far toward Nerd (I don’t watch sports like I used to—and I never really played anything—but I’m not one of those “oh, is a sportsball on?” people)

At least once a week for the past seven and a half years, something makes me say “Man, I miss Tom Petty.” Today, it’s this:

Mine will always and forever remain this one.

What actor’s expression in a movie will stay with you for the rest of your life?

I’m probably missing something super obvious; I’d love to find places for Rogue One and Barbie, and there should probably be a Nolan film on there, but not sure what I’d cut

I also pinned up the full-page Premiere Magazine ads for Batman and Ghostbusters II; 1989 was a big year for me postering my walls

Show a moment from TV/film that broke your heart.

(This is certainly the most recent; the desperate radio voiceover “The murder of Ghorman has begun” absolutely cracked me)

To Norm! RIP George Wendt, one of television’s best ever.

This is bonkers all around, but why does Billy Ray look like the lead in the new musical “Jesus Christ Has-Been”?
