You've recommended that previously and given I'm reading about real life spies who hoodwinked the CIA, I feel it's on topic. So I must give it a watch (I haven't read the book so am going in blind. I prefer it that way. I dont want to know the premise or the plot before the story unfolds itself)

I'm reading the footnotes. I'm fond of a footnote, especially ones that take up 3/4 of the page. I like their chutzpah. And I invariably have QUESTIONS and there the footnotes are, just there on the page, attempting to answer (some) of them. Bless them.

The other notes... no way!

(By "quite an academic book" I mean it has both footnotes AND notes on each chapter at the end of the book...)

I'm exactly the same. This is quite pacily written for what is quite an acedemic book, but the details and breaking down of the data from the experiments are making me glaze over

It's basically how crap we are at correctly judging people's characters, no matter how clever or psychologically astute we are and how we ignore doubts and red flags about people because basically we are programed to believe people are mainly honest. (More in Alt text)

I didn't realise there was danger of one brewing 😂

It wasn't. I'm sorry I put a dampener on it. It was supposed to show I got the pun, but it definitely wasn't the way to do it

Did you dance with Danny Kaye?

(And no, you missed nothing but very traditional rainy British weather, which is obviously nothing new. Oh, I did pick up a non fiction book from the library. So rarely do I read non fiction* thats it's a wonder local news didn't report it)

Apart from history

Today would have been my Mum's birthday. I miss her. Think I AM a mourning person

You can't be lazy if you think walking with unnecessary extra weight is some kind if fun.

Never walked with a weighted vest, because... why? But I have walked for days on end with a heavy backpack containing food and useful things like a sleeping bag. It's not fun. Walking weightless and freely is

But you live it all the same...

A towel merely removes a bit of water (I usually use one, let it soak up some moisture then use another one to do the same, but I'm still left with sopping wet hair, but no longer actually dripping. It air dries in about 4 hours. My hair soaks up water like a sponge!

Definitely a MASSIVE chore!

I've never washed my hair more than on every 5 days and now its weekly.

I don'tlike sleeping with wet hair as it soaks my pillow. I basically just go about my day with soaking wet hair and this is the bit I hate. It sounds low maintenance but my cold wet hair is makes cold and wet for least 4hrs 🥶

I don't dry my hair with a dryer because I can't manage a brush and s dryer at the same time. Also my hair is dry and frizzy enough without added heat. So I sit with wet hair for four hours, getting hyperthermia. And I dont comb my hair until it's dry. A tip from a past hairdresser which works
