Yes, I think schools should have a holistic approach in producing well-rounded, successful members of society. Cognitive development & academic knowledge is only a part of who we are & what we bring to the workforce, our families, & society. Learning in other developmental areas are important too.

Nice to hear about PHSE in the UK. In the US, there is nothing that standard and universal across Pre-K-12. We have some scattering of strategies in some schools mainly in the earlier years. There is definitely not enough support.

Agreed that the relationships are key for positive mental health and happiness over one's lifespan. However, social-emotional skills are important for initially forming and continuing those relationships. #socialdev #socialemotionaldev
