Sometimes, the embargo period differs by discipline: In Belgium or France, 12 months for HSS, but only 6 months for other fields. ⚖️

🇩🇪Germany introduced the #SecondaryPublishingRight in Copyright law in 2013. It grants authors the right to make publicly funded science publications (≥50% public) #OpenAccess after a 12-month embargo.

🇳🇱Netherlands "Taverne amendment" gives authors the right to make the work publicly available. Although authors are entitled to this right, libraries have played a crucial role in raising awareness and making it work.
