Update:
14 hours in now, and I gotta say the story feels like it's being bland and uninteresting on purpose. Gameplay is still good, but without really caring about any of the characters, it's just not as interesting to play as AoC either. The only major advantage AoI has is running on Switch 2.

I'm still early enough in to say my opinion could change, but I was immediately hooked on Calamity, so it's hard to say I have a lot of confidence in that statement. Either way, I'm having fun with it.

I'm not as far through Imprisonment as I'd like to be, but so far I'd say I prefer Calamity. Imprisonment so far has had a badly told recap of what I knew from TotK, and what has been new has featured characters who have yet to show me anything interesting other than Calamo being sorta funny.
