Yeah, those sensors get sooty and you can have a perfectly otherwise sound furnace or boiler cut its own gas off because it's not detecting enough heat.

Can just scrub one with some fine sandpaper and then things will just work again. Not always the fix, but super easy to take a stab at

If it's a gas model, flame sensors are a really common failure point, sometimes just need cleaning.

Sails can be battened as well - 'battens' are just strips of stuff to reinforce things.

There's at least some reason for it - they're expecting younger and healthier people to drop coverage in response to losing the credit.

Without those folks, the risk pool gets worse for the remaining folks.
