Gibson Les Paul Signature
I've posted the Gibson Les Paul Signature bass before, but I never really bothered to see if there was a guitar version until now. There is! The Gibson Les Paul Signature was developed as a new collaboration between Les and Gibson, and was for sale between 1973 and 1979. It's a semi-hollow guitar with an offset double-cutaway design. Les designed the low-impedance pickups himself. The controls look normal for a LP, with the 3-way switch on top and 4 knobs on bottom. These knobs are different, though. There's a master volume and master tone, a rotary phase reversal switch, and a 3-position rotary switch that controls the impedance of the pickups (50/200/500).

Vox Marauder Special
You may have heard of the Fender Marauder, a fancy offset model Fender prototyped in the 1960s and released in 2011. You may have even heard of the Gibson Marauder, a Les Paul-looking Fender competitor with a bolt-on neck from the 1970s. I bet you haven't heard of the Vox Marauder, though. I know I hadn't until I found this yesterday. The Vox Marauder is a vaguely Fenderish solidbody electric with two pickups. The Special version (seen in this picture) has built-in battery-powered effects. There are six rectangular push buttons (Treble, Bass, Top Boost, Mid Boost, Fuzz, and Repeat) a 3-way rotary switch controlling a mid boost, a 3-way blade pickup switch, a knob for the fuzz, a knob for the repeater, and a volume control with an on-off switch for the effects. This guitar also has a trem with a Telecaster-style ashtray.

Peavey Mantis
Everybody made their own version of the ESP Star in the 1980s. Peavey's version, the Mantis, has a neat little twist to it (pun intended). It's got a locking trem, a humbucker, a volume control, and a rotary coil tap instead of a tone control. Turn it all the way down, and it sounds like a humbucker. Crank it up to 10, and you've got a single coil sound. I've got something similar in my Razer.
