🥳The University of Alcala celebrated the official opening of the Space Weather Station on June 18.

The station includes a radiotelescope to continuously observe the ☀️ in the L-band, Hα telescope, VLF antenna, GNSS station & magnetometer.

☄️JWST managed to image asteroid 2024 YR4 this month, and its infrared scopes got a really good estimate of its size.

Turns out it was 60m (+/-7)—sufficient to wreck a large city. Good thing it wasn’t heading to Earth after all…

@asrivkin.bsky.social Andy, did the James Webb telescope perform your planned March observation of #2024YR4 to get it's size? Or was it cancelled after the risk diminished?
