I'm here because my friends are here
Ari Aster, pitching "Beau Is Afraid":

"GIANT DICK MONSTER!!! Now that I have your attention, what we're gonna be talking about is family fueled social anxiety taken to astronomical levels"

Ari Aster, pitching "Midsommar":

"So I just am in love with exploring family trauma. This time I was thinking HEY!! COME ON!! I work really hard on this. Okay, the horror happens during the day and you know what? We'll open with a double murder and suicide. Got your attention?"

It's frustrating and most of us can't help it because the idea of going offline means facing the actual reality that we still need to address whatever we're going through when we're not on the timeline(and we're alone).

Don't listen to me though. I rant about everything.

The question itself is annoying but I think the person who asked is also aware that this is the kind of question that would cause a reaction in this current time. We're involuntary spectators to almost everyone around us while they're living their lives same as how we all feel we're being watched

And Shazam lol (but that's just for connecting music with lived moments)

This is how we then remind ourselves that we have in fact lived and participated in this life even with the limitations placed on us by people who don't believe we deserve to live our lives beyond being livestock for them and their wealth.

I feel like a lot of what goes into existentialism is us feeling like we haven't done anything with our lives and sometimes that can feel like it's true but if we are keeping track of all we do, our everyday lives, we can look back at little moments that changed us over the years.

It's hard to see how far you've come if you yourself aren't keeping track and you also lose sense of knowing that growth doesn't happen in one day, week or even a month but if you have no receipt that you've lived, you'll grow less appreciative of even the little growth you experience
