I'm such a walking contradiction when it comes to art so much so that I end up just not drawing at the end of hours of rough sketches and internal debates about what I should do.
The obvious answer is to practice, study, and get better, but like.

You genuinely can't win with remakes/adaptations because change too much, and you're suddenly unfaithful to the original and bad, even if the changes are good. Change too little, and you get questions like, "why was this made to begin with?" or "You didn't change this aspect, so what was the point?"
