A pleasure to have in class circa 2009-2019, and since then, merely tolerable. Writer, reader, spoonie, and advocate for fiber arts education. 🪡🧶

Hi, I’m Lily! I may or may not attend grad school 🤞🏻, but I’ll be on here to talk about writing and reading for the foreseeable future. Ask me about my forthcoming research paper, “Not Knitting for Nothing: The Case for Fiber Arts.” #booksky #bookish #writer #crochet #knitting #writersofbluesky

I would say “happy holidays” to all of you, but SOME of you retain the most oppressive language in your contracts. Fix that, then we’ll talk season’s greetings! 🎁#artistmanagement #performingarts #contracts

One day I will reach a level of disposable income that allows me to purchase that delectable ambrosia of the gods - a Cava bowl - without first checking my bank account

I can’t ever get Botox because I wear a mask most places, so my eyebrow region is responsible for conveying just how shocked and disgusted I am by some of you

The hug that got me through it all! Love you so much, @racheljanae.bsky.social ❤️
this is me hugging @soupinasock.bsky.social after she gave the capstone presentation of the century back in may

Question - any other artist managers out there who feel like you’re doing less engagement on artistic matters because of the increasing complexity of navigating presenters’ post-pandemic contract documents?

My most basic coping mechanism is always to play badly-coded iphone games until my brain is massaged into submission by strange sound effects and mindless ads. It works really well, I recommend!

“Do you have a five year plan” no but I have a gentle touch. Loving thoughts. A cup of tea. Stop asking me and my caterpillar friends about a Roth IRA.

Bluesky feels like the elementary school classroom you could go to at lunchtime that was quiet and peaceful, without all the screaming and roughhousing.

I fear that people are sleeping on Catherine Lacey’s Pew. I know she’s super well known for Biography of X, but Pew is genius, so subtle and compelling, and worth a read (or re-read) if you, like me, continue to be disturbed by America’s shallow evangelism. #catherinelacey

Anyone else wish we could get America to follow Scotland’s example with #nationalbookweek? That’s the kind of holiday spirit I can muster!

If I get into grad school, I’ll be doing my own form of Rumspringa: I’ll spend the six months before I start acting like a menace so that I can act like an adult for the remaining 3-5 years.
