What
Hate it when someone finds themselves between, say, two people called Greg, and they describe it as a "Greg sandwich". If you're in the middle then it's a YOU sandwich, on Greg bread. You idiot. You fucking moron.

This time next week I will be in Wellington for the sole and explicit purpose of going to Unity Books and picking up a copy of Hoods Landing by Laura Vincent. www.unitybooks.co.nz/products/hoo...

It's #Noirvember and also the @overlandjournal.bsky.social Subscriberthon! Here's a piece on the joys of themed viewing I wrote for Overland a few years ago, plus a reminder to: watch noir and support great independent publications. overland.org.au/2022/11/noir...

Love Peter Watkins. I wrote this last time I watched Privilege, one of my literal favourite movies: boxd.it/4JLHSr
A ★★★★★ review of Privilege (1967)
Nobody ever refers to Peter Watkins films as mockumentaries because they are simply not funny. The man doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humour but still manages to craft some of the greatest sa...

44 horror films all told. Absolutely no idea how I fit them all in when it has been one of the busiest and most full-on months of my life. Still, great fun. Next up: noir!

I'm totally over the moon about this set - I've got a commentary and an essay on there - because it looks so beautiful! This stuff is so wild and I cannot wait to see just how gorgeous the films are all together.
