sadly no animal friends the last two days, there's at least a foot of snow so they're sticking to the trees (or burrows, in the case of chipmunks & rabbits). can't blame them, i'm not going outside either

only got a few photos, was too busy watching. had at least 7 squirrels (lost track), 2 rabbits, 2 cardinals, a blue jay, & a bunch of smaller birds come for food this morning. one of the squirrels was about to come inside, had to waive it away since i didn't have an almond in my hand for him lol

one of the squirrels trusts me now too. not surprised it was this one, it's always seemed extra friendly

looks like i just get to hand-feed a chipmunk almost every morning now, makes me think she needs a name. suggestions?

i've befriended my backyard chipmunks! squirrels, birds, & rabbits too, but only the chipmunks have started letting me hand-feed them 🙂

a couple new photos of one of the baby chipmunks. this one is really tiny & timid around other animals, but will come right up to the sliding door when i'm sitting there w/ it open. he was very playful this morning, ducking into the pile of leaves under the logs & popping back up

take extra pain meds so i can spend more time watching the baby chipmunks that i've been feeding. they're adorable, but chronic pain limits me to 5-10 min at a time

new nocturnal animal buddy showed up tonight. sadly, he waddled off after i opened the door to toss a few more saltines out there since there weren't many nuts left from the squirrels, chipmunks, & birds
