sadly no animal friends the last two days, there's at least a foot of snow so they're sticking to the trees (or burrows, in the case of chipmunks & rabbits). can't blame them, i'm not going outside either

only got a few photos, was too busy watching. had at least 7 squirrels (lost track), 2 rabbits, 2 cardinals, a blue jay, & a bunch of smaller birds come for food this morning. one of the squirrels was about to come inside, had to waive it away since i didn't have an almond in my hand for him lol

my neck has cracked 5 times just while laying down this last half hour. the smallest movements are shifting things back into place tonight, not sure why but i'll take it. just wish i knew so i could repeat it, my pain levels are so much better the rare times my neck is (mostly) aligned. nvm, it's 6x

did anyone else's hometown have ongoing pranks done by entirely different people? there was maybe a decade where at least a handful of people (who didn't know each other afaik) who would throw or plant their marijuana seeds in the mayor's garden & front yard

it's funny watching people claim a movie isn't a flop when they think it barely made it's production budget back because they don't realize that studios often spend around the same amount on the marketing budget. production isn't the only cost for the industry

the chipmunk also likes being hand-fed hazelnuts, didn't think she'd want to take them from my hand but she kept ignoring the ones i set on the stoop for her to grab the one i was holding

successfully got one of the chipmunks to take almonds from my hand just now. honestly, one of my happiest moments in a long time. it feels really nice to be trusted that much by a tiny little animal

the chipmunk that's been peeking her head inside the sliding door lately actually tried to cone inside today, had to wave her off really quick to stop her. would've been tough getting her back outside, the whole house is pretty open. also saw her try strawberries & apples today, very cute

went for a slow, short walk earlier & ran into two dogs just running around together. they were SUPER friendly & both came for quick pets but they were too busy adventuring for me to get a look at their tags. not sure if the bigger one was a husky or a malamute, but it was extremely cute

how would one go about selling their services as a new caretaker for your pets, should you become raptured? i'd want the contract to include that all pet owner rapturees have to contribute to buying me, their pets, & my friends a nice fortified house. oddly, there's probably a market for this

obviously things are bad in so many ways, but lately i'm finding anyone pushing Newsom as the solution/next Dem presidential nominee to be extra fucking exhausting. they accuse the rest of us of "purity testing" despite objecting to his shitty policies, not exactly a purity test

out of curiosity, i decided to see what those shady data brokers say about me currently & holy shit is it hilariously wrong. it's got me & another guy w/ my name confused (happens a lot) so it thinks i earn $$75k/yr. nope, i'm disabled & still not on SSI so it's actually $0 :/

a couple new photos of one of the baby chipmunks. this one is really tiny & timid around other animals, but will come right up to the sliding door when i'm sitting there w/ it open. he was very playful this morning, ducking into the pile of leaves under the logs & popping back up

i will admit that for a minute earlier i was thinking about how it's a shame that you can't have pet chipmunks, then i remembered that hamsters aren't that different. funny that i forgot that, i had two hamsters (20 years ago)

no, really. if you have chipmunks living in your yard, feed them. it's so fun watching them & it's gotten to the point where there's usually one or two near our patio at all times now. it makes you feel good when the local animals like you & trust you 🙂
based on how happy it makes me, i think we should use "go feed chipmunks" instead of "go touch grass". grass isn't that fun to touch, just kinda scratchy
