I was happy to chair a symposium on RSV vaccine in Beirut. For decades, RSV has been recognized as a major cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia in young children. However, what has remained underappreciated — and overlooked — is the significant burden this virus poses on adults.

Dr. G. Ralph Corey shaped countless lives—mine included. I’m proud to call myself his mentee. His belief in me changed my life. More than a mentor, he was family. His photo still hangs in my office. I’ll always be grateful and think of him often, especially our time in Beirut.

Toxocariasis remains an underrecognized parasitic disease in the MENA region, posing diagnostic challenges. With Lebanon's ceasefire, I participated the Gabriel Network meeting in Annecy. It was great reconnecting with friends, making new ones, and seeing excellent presentations highlighting the network's achievements. Meeting Mr. Merieux was a highlight, and the friendly atmosphere made it unforgettable!
