It was a pleasure meeting Dr Rakan Nasreddine the minister of public health of Lebanon on behalf of the LSIDCM. We discussed the alarming antimicrobial resistance in the country and the importance of collaborating with the ministry to address AMR as a One Health approach.

I was happy to chair a symposium on RSV vaccine in Beirut. For decades, RSV has been recognized as a major cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia in young children. However, what has remained underappreciated — and overlooked — is the significant burden this virus poses on adults.
