Words to live by...
I mean, if you're going to do a bit of coveting, you might as well do it for something so great!

Preparing for bad news later this morning. I think a certain level of pessimism is warranted, sadly.

Anyway. Better make myself presentable. With everything else being shit I at least deserve to have a good hair day.

That feeling when your doctor sends you a message at 00:23 in the night... (Nothing bad, except perhaps his work/life balance.)

I felt like an afternoon snack but there are precious few snack food items in the kitchen so I poached a couple of eggs and whipped up a hollandaise.

Eek... We have moving crates. 110 of them.

I guess this means we're really doing this thing?

Since Texas banned abortions with no exceptions for rape or incest, 26,313 Texans have become pregnant from rape. That’s roughly 1,644 rapes resulting in forced pregnancy a month. Family court then traps victims with their rapists.

Slightly tipsy and have logged on Twitter... Gosh. It's been a while since so many people have called me a nazi!

(Due to me pointing out that the route from Gilleleje to Sweden does not go anywhere near Kronborg Castle. Apparently this makes me - and basic geography - a nazi.)

Table's ready, all food is as prepped as can be at this stage, and I think it might be time to open a bottle of bubbly...

Happy New Year, everybody. May 2024 be less crappy!

Me coming home after having been away for 48 hours...

For the next 3 hours the only time we weren't physically touching was when I had to go to the loo.

I think the little critter missed me.

Natten går tunga fjät,
runt gård och stuva.
Kring jord som sol’n förlät,
skuggorna ruva.
Då i vårt mörka hus,
stiger med tända ljus,
Sankta Lucia, Sankta Lucia.

Am considering what to make for New Year's Eve.

So far the draft menu has landed on 5 courses plus hors d'oeuvres before (for the Queen's speech) and something to have with the coffee plus some snacks for after dinner.

(My dinner party will consist of me and my cat. And some glorious food!)

Last night I made æbleskiver, little fried dough balls flavoured with cardamom and lemon zest. It's about as Christmassy as it gets, and a staple of Christmas market throughout the Denmark.

And there was leftover dough, so I had them for breakfast as well, and as an afternoon snack in 10 minutes.

First batch of Christmas biscuits done, in time for BF to bring them with him to Bornholm tomorrow when he goes for a pre-Christmas visit to his dad.

The cat was less than impressed with my efforts - but I suppose it's actually a good thing that my biscuits don't taste like cat food!

I've taken the cat out for walkies at 3am, 5am and 6am. He's had a great night!

And I slept from 10pm to 3am and 5 hours of continuous sleep is actually pretty good compared to my usual sleep mess, so all in all not too bad. And walkies with Loke are always great.

Made a batch of shrimp dumplings for the freezer last night. The proof is in the eating - but I shan't be eating them for some time, as the plan is to make a few different kinds so I can make bags of "mixed dumplings" for a quick and easy lunch for one. (The filling smelled delicious, though...)

The cat just threw up, but I managed to coax him into the bathroom before it happened - so clean-up was a lot easier than when he does it on one of the rugs...

And now the poor little thing is resting in his cardboard box on the bed next to me.

Today's mood... Kind of tired due to immunotherapy yesterday - but that will pass in a few days.

For now it's good to have a furry shoulder to lean on.
