1/2 Cadeau to the Transport Committee of the Danish Parliament for not only embarking on assessing on how infrastructure decisions are currently made, but also - in unanimity - proposing meaningful improvements. #dktrp #dkgreen #dkpol

Danish newspaper Politiken had a nuanced piece yesterday on repurposing city space from cars to other uses 👌🏻.

The headlines:
- Paper version: More bikes. Less cars. How car-free cities is a European trend.
- Online: All over Europe there is an attack on cars

Car brain, or just click-bait media?

Impressive!

We use the IKEA prefab version: Our daughters invite their friends over, and then they decorate them over a theme. This year the theme was ‘political parties’, as it was held the day before the local elections (not even my suggestion!)

Great! Also that you have one already - in Denmark all aircrafts with fewer than 10 seats (so many private jets) are exempt of our aviation passenger tax.

By the way, is the normal tax still not dependent on distance? If so, here’s our proposal to amend that:

Tensor Auto is now promoted in Denmark by a local car-sharing company (even if Tensor themselves promote the car on private ownership model 🤔).

Any experiences from the US we should be aware of before possibly allowing them onto our streets? 🧐 #dktrp

The new mayor of Copenhagen, Sisse Marie Welling, had a great meme game 👇🏻

New mayor in front: Change
The guy: Copenhagen
The guy’s girlfriend: The same again-again.

Now I’m curious to see what change will actually happen.

NB.

November 22, 2025 at 7:32 PM
I don’t understand what you mean (and I’m really not sure what/why we’re discussing?)
November 19, 2025 at 6:57 PM
… now back, just before the election is closing, as I have signed up for counting the votes.

5 minutes until the local elections open across Denmark.

Warm thanks to candidates from all parties for putting yourself forward. A thriving democracy requires participation.

If you see the news that Denmark has set a new 'ambitious' 2035-goal of 82% emissions reduction vs. 1990 levels, then you should be aware that we will reach 80% just by existing policies.

Read why and how CONCITO recommends 90% reduction (in Danish): concito.dk/udgivelser/v... #dkgreen #dkpol

The Danish population remains highly committed on climate and the green agenda 💚 (green = now; grey = last year).

Fingers crossed that this also will show in tomorrow's local elections. 🤞

Endnu en bro?!? 🤦🏻‍♂️

I hope the local kids get to enjoy the fresh asphalt for roller skating or bike training in the weekend, before this residential street is again filled up with cars.
November 16, 2025 at 6:47 AM
Great to join likeminded in today’s climate march in Copenhagen.

Before going into the streets, the organisers reminded the participants that #climateaction by civil society matters, and called @helenehagel.bsky.social onto the stage to tell about how @greenpeace.org are stopping new oil fields 👏🏻.

Præcis.

Jeg hører endda fra en kollega at tv-indslaget viste at de to omtalte drenge var store teenagere, som fint så ud til at kunne (el)cykle.

A propos the COP in Belém, I was for other reasons searching through old pictures, and then I found this drawing that my youngest daughter made during Covid.
November 11, 2025 at 9:39 PM
Sorry to report that we also have such abomination in Copenhagen. 🙄
November 11, 2025 at 7:45 PM
Whoa, in Phoenix there is 40 km2 of off-street surface parking within 10 km of the city center. That is 13% of all land.

HT @lewislehe.bsky.social for this amazing analysis, showing also that in some city centres it is even worse: Tulsa has 31% within 1 km. findingspress.org/article/1452...
November 10, 2025 at 9:09 AM
Exactly. The area used for on-street parking in Frederiksberg (a municipality within central Copenhagen) is about the same as the park Frederiksberg Have (0.3 km2) 🤯

Well, bio-SAF is often of doubtful provenance and e-SAF is made from green hydrogen and captured CO2 that climate-wise is better used separately.
