Almost 2 years ago, a call out for testimonial from students about the importance of GSA’s lead to a conversation with folks in Ottawa regarding this national memorial. This week they sent out this for the students. You just never know what may come out things when you toss something out there.

My art exhibit based on rural queer identity went up at MUN a couple days ago, and I receive this message. Not gonna lie, I bawled my face off, and then felt pretty angry that young queer folks are still caught up in this political
BS hatred.

We will look back on this action and recognize it as the crime against humanity that it is. Removing legal recognition for trans people does not make them go away, just as it did not conversely mark the beginning of history for trans people. We have always been there, and always will be.
