So, while it's not as bad as it could have been, it's not great, or "beating the fascists" either. Personally, I'm worried for the future, and a lot will now depend on how the non/less extreme right will respond. (5/5)

Also, they have proposed very big changes/cuts in health care, which makes me worry for, among others, trans healthcare, which is already understaffed/underfunded with increasing wait times in a gatekept system. (4/5)

The D66 has a history of compromising beyond what they stand for, but on the other hand, they haven't been this big before. However, them joining the "migrants bad" train is a bad sign. (3/5)

Being the leader of the biggest party (which isn't even completely clear yet since counting isn't yet finished) also doesn't guarantee you becoming prime minister. A coalition of parties, together with over 75 electoral seats, will form the cabinet, and they will choose the prime minister (2/5)

Unfortunately, we haven't beaten the fascists. Electoral seats for the left are at an all-time low, and all fascists parties combined only grew, to almost 1/3 of all votes. (1/5)

Ofcourse that doesn't mean this isn't horrible and we should speak out against this, both in the UK as well as the Netherlands.

Let's just wait for the elections results in the Netherlands. At the moment it's not great and only getting better through the fight of amazing organizations like lgbt asylum support.

'education is not our problem'

bigots like @petebuttigieg.bsky.social legitimising segregationist talking points bcos he thinks embracing fascism is easier than fighting fascism is our problem.

if you support pete, if you support @governor.ca.gov, you are not resisting maga. you are supporting it.

Besides learning critical thinking, you also learn from the diversity of students, and professors. Having close contact with different views, cultures, people, etc. really helps broaden your understanding of yourself, others, and society.

Like most labels, "transmasc" and "transfem" can be useful, but only if a person feels the label is right for them. Labels shouldn't be forced on others, but they should be used to find and describe yourself in a way that feels right.
