Hot mug of milk tea and nibbling on a custard bun for dinner. Had a diabolical conversation with a dear friend tonight, but everything was ironed out in the end.

Swiss roll chunks for a little appetizer always makes me think of the book Little Altars Everywhere. A light amusement while waiting for the kettle to boil.

Drastically reducing my caffeine consumption and switching my main source (from coffee to matcha tea) in the time before starting grad school has been an interesting experiment, but I'm sure that I'll be back to being up to my eyeballs in coffee when fall swings around.

My cute little Hello Kitty pill organizer is great for remembering my iron and vitamin D. The lurch forward (I adore the 'extra hour' of lay in time we get in winter, but spring always hits with a vengeance) has left me groggier than usual, but hopefully more beautiful sunny afternoons are ahead.

March break’s started for the kid brother. Spent a very relaxing morning reading while enjoying some snacks in bed. He’s gotten into science fiction, and after he finishes up this trilogy, I’ve promised him we’ll watch the movie adaptation as a treat (and to compare the books to the movie.)

Sent Dan a link to the TTRPG playbook for the PBP campaign we’ll be running together last night. Sketched out my two main characters for it, but went to bed before I could lay down flats.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an official writing club at the university I'll be attending in the fall- seems like they couldn't get enough momentum last year to meet the required number of student signups for affiliation. Maybe I'll bring my notebook to the grad student writing times?

My hands smell intensely of ink, even after much scrubbing. Shampooing your hair is super efficient to get fountain pen ink off of your skin, though. Was messing around with a 1.9 nib in a random pen I found while sifting through old stationery supplies- might be nice to use for chapter headings.

The sidewalks are wet, the snowbanks are shrinking- and I'm sleepily drinking a matcha milk tea with marshmallows. Reluctant to let the cozy vibes of this hellish winter go, but it'll be nice to go on more walks to muddle around with photography again. Daylight Saving's hop forward haunts me.

A good full body stretch beneath comfy cozy covers, in nice pyjamas, in a cold room while quite warm, snuggled up after a good episode of Hannibal watched in low lighting. No better way to spend an evening.

Found my old Hello Kitty pill organizer and my My Melody card holder. Also, my lab goggles wound up in a random drawer with some beautiful notebooks- some B5 Muji ones for class notes, a gifted Peter Pauper’s for a new WIP I’ve been mulling over, and a tiny Paperblanks for bujo-ing in the new term.

Some vintage bits and bobs finally came in- a gorgeous little embroidered pansy scarf clip (that can be worn like a clamp style brooch in a pinch), and a tiny enamel angel pin. My favourite of the lot is the silver, floral round locket dangling from a cute little bow brooch. Perfect at the throat.

Feeling quite under the weather- the transition into the wet, rainy spring season normally brings about a bout of illness. It’s nice to have a big cup of hot matcha tea to relax with, though.

Debating hosting the backlog of (mostly pictures of cute wildlife) photos I posted to my Instagram to my personal website as well... Will have to consider playing around with a gallery style layout for them, perhaps?

There's something super satisfying about tallying up your wordcount for the month. I look forward to comparing that value, and the average daily wordcount I've been chipping away at, over the next few months. Spring's here- and it's a nice way to begin the month.

Figured out how to integrate a little feed of my posts here onto my personal website. Super stoked about that! It's fun decorating the place a little- and pink is my favourite color. :-)
