Tessa Fraser Campbell’s stunning whale installation in Winchester Cathedral. A peaceful afternoon surrounded by the immensity of history represented on this site.
A photo taken from below of three sperm whale sculptures which are suspended from the ceiling of the cathedral. There is light projected which is a mix of blues, greens and purples. A photo take from the back of Winchester Cathedral’s nave. The three whale sculptures are suspended at the other end. Along the sides of the knave banners are suspended with abstract images on them which are lit up in blue and green. A photo taken of below of the sculpture of an adult sperm whale and a calf. They are suspended from the ceiling. There is a large arched stained glass window in the background.

A necessary and galvanising talk this evening from Professor @davidolusoga.bsky.social about the powerful role of humanities and particularly public history. During these difficult and uncertain times, this was urgent reminder about why we do what we do and the potential history has to effect change
