This is why joy is resistance.

This is why imagination and creativity and art fuel revolutions.

What does good feel like? What does it taste like? Who is there? What music are they dancing to?

So keep shining a light on what’s bad, but make sure to widen the spotlight for what’s good, too.

Love making book lists!
The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley was very fun and intriguing; non-fiction The Feather Thief by Kirk Wallace Johnson was a fascinating read; I binged a lot of Curtis Sittenfeld's work recently, such fun reads; Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead also really gripped me.

Following along to see what others come up with.

It is certainly a skill taught a little too well... I unlearned it by understanding 'embodiment' (ironically from training outside of medicine). It is possible to hold space for difficult events in a less repressed way.

We had avoided it for years, but the elf magic was too strong this year…

And, our 6 year old totally knows how to play the baby card and get mom to cave 🙃

Yesterday, my husband informed me that a kid brought an elf on a shelf to school and touched it with her bare hands!

They were surrounded by 10 kids and broke down in tears when informed the elf had lost all its magic because of this transgression.

High stakes out there - stay safe elf parents!

Fantastic choices! May I also suggest Graceland by Paul Simon? It was the baby whisperer for my eldest, she would be wailing and we would put on Boy in the Bubble and she would look at us all wide eyed and listen.
It’s a joy of parenting to make new memories with your kids and the music you love. ❤️

I bet that was incredible! My kids went wild when they saw the characters they love, so I imagine seeing them in person would be so exciting. Pure joy!

I don’t feel up and running at all, but have found the starter packs to follow helpful and just learned about labels and feeds.

The biggest thing to overcome is just how conditioned the 🐦 app made us. It prioritized antagonism, this place seems to run on 🌈 ☀️ ❤️ and it takes time to get used to.

I left an awkward message but they called me back!

I can't remember the total, and now it's buried in the other place.

The patient was delighted the next during rounds.

Funny how those little things stick with you.

Maybe I'll call up the hospital operator tomorrow for old times.

1 - it helps you sift through a lot of the fluff in letters and get to the meat of it.

2 - understanding when and why individuals thrive and succeed is a window into how they will operate as a resident.

3 - it ends the interview on a positive and memorable note
