Pinned Post Time!

I’m Jeffrey (he/him) and one of my favorite things to do is take and share pictures of all the wonderful birds I’ve had the opportunity to find. I’ve been presenting them as My Bird of the Day to spread the joy that birding brings me. #itsabird 🪶
Today my Bird of the Day says it’s dark and time for snoozes. #itsabird 🪶

My Bird of the Day today is the Gray Catbird. I think it’s mad at me for putting up my office holiday decorations before Thanksgiving. #itsabird 🪶

I needed to see something other than an overcast sky so today my Bird of the Day is the Royal Tern. Cruising over the southern coast these birds are inspiring to watch. 🪶 #itsabird

My Bird of the Day today is a familiar one. The Northern Cardinal. With the new feeder pole I gained a new hanging spot so naturally I gained a new feeder that works best with a different type of seed and my hope is I bring in more cardinals over the winter. 🪶 #itsabird

Today my Bird of the Day is the Tufted Titmouse. This one was from a few years back in south western Wisconsin. 🪶 #itsabird

Today my Bird of the Day celebrates my new feeder pole which seems much more robust. 🪶 #itsabird

Today my Bird of the Day is Greg from Washington. #itsabird 🪶

Today my Bird of the Day is a Blue Jay to commemorate the life and work of the feeder pole on which it was perched. Sunday morning I awoke to the pole snapped and feeders laying empty on the ground. Gone but not forgotten. #itsabird 🪶

Today my Bird of the Day is the Black Phoebe. It would like you to Pokémon go to the polls. Also trainer code available on request! #itsabird 🪶

I hear today is for angry birds. On a recent trip to one of my favorite Minnesota parks I found this White-breasted Nuthatch who was clearly not having it. #itsabird 🪶

Happy Halloween everyone! 🧛‍♀️ 🪶 🎃 #itsabird

What better Bird of the Day to end this month on than the Carrion Crow? None, I say. This one being extra creepy lurking around a Parisian cemetery. 🪶 #itsabird 🎃

My Bird of the Day today is the Blue Jay. Fitting both my theme this month of Corvids and the best bird themed team currently playing in a championship series it seemed like a good choice. 🪶 #itsabird

My Bird of the Day today is a unique view of a Blue Jay. #itsabird 🪶

The Grey Jay is not the most scary of Corvids. In fact, my Bird of the Day probably ranks highest on the traditional cute factor scale. That is unless you’re afraid of it by its other name the Canada Jay and a better health care system scares you. 🪶 #itsabird

Today we’re taking a break from our regular Corvid October lineup for a King Birds no Kings post. Couch’s Kingbird good luck and stay safe out there everyone. #itsabird 🪶

My Bird of the Day is my backyard Blue Jay. I love having these birds around and sometimes three will show up at a time. Their screams send me to the window every time and I just love watching their feeding ritual. 🪶 #itsabird

My Bird of the Day today is the Eurasian Jackdaw. I loved this pensive bird of the crow family the moment I saw my first one. They have a curious intelligence about them that they are not shy to demonstrate. 🪶 #itsabird

Today my Bird of the Day is the jaunty crow. This one was proudly strutting with its prize scrap of bread. #itsabird 🪶

Today my Bird of the Day is the Steller’s Jay. Got a bird centric weekend ahead and I’m excited to get out while the getting is good in the Northland. #itsabird 🪶
October 11, 2025 at 7:40 AM
Today my Bird of the Day is the Raven. I’ve posted this beauty before but it was such a thrilling experience. Top of a neat park overlooking a small town. It’s no wonder these birds inspire so much lore. 🪶 #itsabird
October 5, 2025 at 4:41 AM
My Bird of the Day today is the Magpie. This, the Eurasian variety was found at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens. Additional spooky points for being photobombed. 🪶 #itsabird

Is it time? Oh yes, it’s time. My Bird of the Day today needs no introduction. Corvids are amazing and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. From PDX last weekend the humble crow. 🪶 #itsabird

Though a Jay may be more fitting today I’ve decided that my Bird of the Day will instead celebrate a most fantastic birding day. The Northern Flicker goes by many names which I wholly support and was just one of the cool things I saw. Sapsucker, Harrier, Kestrel, otters, phoebe, cranes…🪶 #itsabird

Today my Bird of the Day is the Song Sparrow. Fun little brush hopper. I’ve seen them in many places and the differences are fun to notice but that line behind the eye always looks so good. 🪶 #itsabird
