Today, we hiked from New York into New Jersey and back in the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge. It was one of the easiest trails I've been on in the northeast, and they had numerous benches to sit on to make it even easier. I'm not complaining. (cont...)

It may be a bit larger now than it was in 1908. I measured the open water in the aerial view as slightly over eleven acres. You can see the original extent here, though.
