Auckland was the only major centre not giving bus drivers an hourly increase to $30, because there wasn't enough money to do that!!
I've calculated that every week, AT loses around $1.5million, and has done for years. If there's even a squeak that fares are going up, there'll be a riot.

There are times when the unpaid fare tickets - how drivers are opposing the tsunami of fare cheats - reach the floor and beyond. Hundreds of fare cheats. The same people over and over again. They've cheated for years, some of them.

There are times when the unpaid fare tickets - how drivers are opposing the tsunami of fare cheats - reach the floor and beyond. Hundreds of fare cheats. The same people over and over again. They've cheated for years, some of them.

And of course, w/e bus services. Let's say there are 3,5k per w/e day. 7k. The loss of revenue for them: $14k.
But, of course, it's not A passenger per trip, it's sometimes TEN. And not 1 zone, but 2 or even 3!!
Next time you're on a bus, have a look at the tickets coming out of the machine.

One of my favourite sandwiches as a child, if I'd been carsick - always ravenous later following the purge - was a nice spaghetti sandwich. The other one was marmite and lettuce.

I guess there are a lot of Israelis who do not want to accept that their forces are murdering people, and one of their knee-jerk reactions is to claim those calling for a ceasefire are antisemitic.
