Hierarchy is not the source of rules, but is actually opposed to them.

My parents have one of these (came free with their home backup batteries) and I've used it while kayaking. It does look silly, but it kept me comfortably shaded and charged two phones to full while we were on the water. Honestly pretty great in the right circumstances.

Everybody has to learn the hard way, I guess: Never trust a Carney, the games are always rigged.

Depth is always preferred, although it sometimes means I have to save a piece until I have time to dig in. This series on Nova Scotia policing is a favourite of mine, in particular, I've re-read it a couple of times.

Used to get this when I had a full beard. Someone actually saw me through the window of a Mexican restaurant where I was eating, and was so confident I was a dealer they came in off the street to try to buy off me right there. It was a very awkward conversation, but he wasn't too insistent at least.

The conservative conception of power is less about the ability to do things (they're all rich so they can do whatever they want anyway) than the ability to get away with things. Trump is obviously led around by the nose by many people, but he's strong because he can externalize blame for everything.

Sure they're solvable - all we have to do is seize the company's assets, jail the incompetent crooks who've been running it, and make it a public utility.

Worth noting, without reading the meters, NS Power is not only guessing (often absurdly high) how much power people used, but for those with solar panels feeding back into the grid, their 'estimates' appear to assume ZERO solar production by default.

Too bright, but also, too white. They could use LEDs with spectra that didn't wreck people's night vision so badly, but of course then they wouldn't photograph as well...

Don't forget straight-up gambling, and online advertising (half of which seems to be for gambling, now)!

Well, when you put it like that, fine.
