I want to see where Adhoc goes from here as a studio, because its clear they have a lot of passion and heart put into this thing, and they have a lot of potential to even surpass telltale (which i have been a fan of since the first walking dead game) cuz god knows telltale isnt doing shit to compete

ALL THIS is to say, I am mixed on the game, it has a lot of potential, a great premise, stellar animation, addictive gameplay, but falls short in important aspects such as the romance at the center of the story, the general writing, and the wasted potential of its larger cast. I will give it a 6/10

I will ALSO say, Shroud is a disappointing villain. He isn't very much of a consistent threat, just being referenced a few times, then showing up in the last 2 like he's been around the whole time. But his last appearances at the end are good.

I also adore the gameplay. The real time strategy aspects of micromanaging these little fuckers is insanely addicting and fun, I would play an entire game-mode of just this if it were possible. I am a big fan of strategy games so I'd love to see a sequel expanding and re-imagining the gameplay.

I do want to praise the art direction for a minute also, the game is beautiful, and animated very well, each character design has it's own flair while also paying tribute to classic comic book hero design tropes. Not much to say other than just look at some of the cutscenes.

The characters are very fun to watch, and I would like to see more of them, but again, they can't go five minutes without swearing for no reason, or without a rancid sex joke. I don't have a problem with these jokes (I love Peacemaker) it's just a little annoying when they do them constantly.

All this is not to say the game isn't entertaining, the cutscenes are a very "turn your brain off" kind of fun, where if you aren't concerned with the Hazbin Hotel level of excessive language and sex jokes you aren't really gonna care. Also have no idea why they even bothered with quick time events

I feel like my main issue is the romance, it does not fit the game at all, and feels rushed and unnecessary, especially when the writers have a choice they want you to pick over the other. It feels like they had the idea to make the romance, then decided to add a decision around it after the fact.
