The Solidarity Center stands with workers everywhere fighting for fair wages, safe workplaces and fundamental freedoms – when workers have the knowledge and support to advocate for themselves, communities thrive.
These cases arose from protests surrounding the demand for increased wages, which were suppressed by the employers and the then government of Bangladesh. Tragically, four workers lost their lives and many more were injured during these weeks of protest.

In late 2023, at least 45 criminal cases were filed against workers and union leaders by ready-made garment (RMG) factory owners and the police in Bangladesh.
