Husband, father, time-waster. Builds gunpla and plays video games too much.
Just finished up this knockoff kit that I've had for a bit. The lovely Nobel Gundam from G Gundam!

She super cute and really quick to put together. Thinking of getting another one that is a little bit weirder, so to speak.

And now we are officially done!

A completely assembled Master Grade Oberon!

A journey.

So let's talk about.
January 18, 2025 at 10:25 PM
New weekend means a finished Platform unit for the Oberon!

Six quill pen bits included.

Definitely was more then I had imagined but the results are great.

But not quite done yet...
January 18, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Back and finished with the weapons!

Kinda.

The shield looks like an owl. The long gun has bayonets. There is no extra handle for the long sword blade.

Fun stuff none the less.

Final push. The stand and the bits.
January 12, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Model complete! Wings, backpack and all!

It's heavy.

It's also cool as hell.

With this the largest part of this project is done. I still have the stand, weapons, and bits to do but that shouldn't be that big of a task.

For tonight though? A job well done if I do say so myself.
January 12, 2025 at 1:13 AM
Last pair of back wings done!

Way less parts to these so it went a lot quicker.

They have little retractable feet to help the model stand. Unsurprising really.

Not quite done though.

Time to put it all together.
January 12, 2025 at 12:54 AM
So tomorrow turned out to be a whole week later. But that's just semantics.

Left wing done!

Still more wing to do!

Let's see if we can get the last back wings done.
January 11, 2025 at 11:00 PM
Poor decisions were made.
January 11, 2025 at 7:10 PM
As an aside before building more of the kit tomorrow, a little bit of perspective on the scale of the model.

We see a standard 1/144 HG RX-78-2 and of course the current state of the 1/100 MG Oberon.

Really is something.
January 5, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Continuing on!

The backpack and right wing done!

There is so much wing. So much.

I like the way the backpack looks and once all the wings are done this kit is gonna be amazing looking I bet.

But that's for tomorrow.
January 4, 2025 at 11:02 PM
And here's the Oberon, sans wings, assembled!

The size difference is significant.

I still got a ways to go, what with the wings, weapons, stand, and bits. But that can wait till the weekend. Right now I'm going to bask in the feel of a build well done.

For me anyway.
January 2, 2025 at 3:05 AM
After 12 hours and to stab wounds the legs are done!

They were a lot, not gonna lie. I still really enjoyed putting them together but damn does my shoulder hurt.

Not quite done with tonight though...
January 2, 2025 at 2:52 AM
Managed to finish the waist/skirt part tonight!

As has been the case so far it was fun to build and looks really great.

Dunno if I'll get to the legs tonight or not, but I'll try to put them together tomorrow if not.

See you in the new year!
January 1, 2025 at 1:19 AM
Now that I've put together what I managed to finish I genuinely feel like this is a great kit. It's been an education for sure and humbling in a way. I really think I'm doing as well as I can with it and can see the difference in how I'm building this vs other kits.
December 29, 2024 at 9:57 PM
Arms done!

There are four different hands for each arm, so 8 hands to make and line. It wasn't bad and at the same time it was. Strange feeling.

Gonna put the arms, shoulders, torso, and head together.
December 29, 2024 at 9:43 PM
I did not have it in me to continue after dinner last night, so we are back at it today!

Shoulders finished, which is a weird thing to say as they usually just go with the arms all at once.

Not so with this kit I guess. Should have really seen this coming.

The rest of the arms next.
December 29, 2024 at 4:42 PM
Torso done!

God.

It's so much I swear.

I knew that coming into this, but knowing and experiencing are two different things.

The panel line makes it look really nice though.

Not sure how much more I'm gonna do tonight. Guess we'll see.
December 28, 2024 at 9:28 PM
Real quick before I keep put the torso unit together, I had to post this up.

This is just the internal part of the torso. I still need to put the outer armor on.

It has individual pistons that move when you bend it.

This thing is crazy.
December 28, 2024 at 6:44 PM
Heads done.

Definitely took a bit but so far the kit seems to be good quality. Haven't seen any overflowed plastic or oddly thin pieces.

Let's keep going.
December 28, 2024 at 4:14 PM
It's about 8:45 here in the sunny south of the US of A and I am woefully under prepared to build this thing.

But that's never stopped me before, sure a hell won't stop me now.

Here we go.
December 28, 2024 at 1:45 PM
...so

I bought a 1/100 master grade kit.

The Mecha Core Industries Oberon 1/100 Master Grade kit to be exact.

I am terrified.

There are soooooo many runners.

Pray for this poor soul and the kit being built.
December 27, 2024 at 10:54 PM
A merry holidays to all and a special set today! Wife and I got this here Hello Kitty gunpla knock off for the child and we're putting it together now.

Love the runners being shaped like her head and bow.
December 25, 2024 at 3:13 PM
So I built a Dom.

Not that kind.

It's another knock off and it showed. More then a few over flowed bits of plastic on the parts and some had small holes in them.

Other then that though? Pretty fun.
December 23, 2024 at 12:06 AM
Gouf-chan is late for morning piloting class! She even forgot her bread! What will she do?!

Anyway, the Gouf is done! I really like how it came out. Less parts that felt fragile and that's with some popping out of the runners in transit.

Full disclosure, I mostly got it for the gunshield.
December 16, 2024 at 12:11 AM
For the Bluesky folks! A knock off GM!

The broken visor is a choice and totally not cuz I broke while trying to clean it up.

He looks so goofy I love it.
