This work led by Elena Levi-D'Ancona, a recent PhD graduate in our lab, was our first cover and only possible due to our amazing team and outstanding collaborators, including @nesvilab.bsky.social and Orian Shirihai, and funding from NIDDK, Breakthrough T1D, and the VA! Thank you! 🤗🙌 2/fin

My absolute favorite lab tradition - champagne (mimosa) toasts to a newly accepted paper, celebrating our post-doc Jin's new story! Can't wait to share when it's out in print! 🍾🥳

Today, the annual Stefan Fajans Lecture (the highest profile
@umich.edu Diabetes seminar) was delivered by Dr. Viswanathan Mohan, whose presentation was a tour de force on MODY and T2D in India with comparisons worldwide. Thank you Dr. Mohan for your illuminating and important work!

We could not have finished this story without these two amazing first authors, Emily Walker and Gemma Pearson, who gave everything to get this paper to the finish line. I am so lucky to work with the most amazing people who are way smarter than me! 3/6

We did a thing! Our first human islet isolation at Michigan by @cortig.bsky.social in partnership with our wonderful friends in the Alberta IsletCore @bcellorg.bsky.social. Excited for this to be the first of many to support diabetes research! 🤩
