Yeah, traveling alone does make things more complicated, especially with the language barrier. I have family in Japan, so I've come to find I have to convince myself everything will be fine. Whatever you decide, I hope things turn out well!

Perhaps check the maps to see if those warnings overlap with areas you are visiting. Ensure you have traveler's insurance and know how to claim e.g. for a hospital visit. Just my thoughts since I had similar fears when I visited last year when there was a different megaquake warning.

You should do what you feel is best, but I do think preparedness is the takeaway from those warnings since there will always be earthquake risks in Japan, whenever you visit. There are some Earthquake guides online like this one with things to keep in mind: www.pref.kyoto.jp/en/04-06-04....
