Wouldn't it be epic if everyone in this administration died of something they cut funding for without a thought? Measles, bird flu, airplane crash, next year's flu, on and on and on. I'm not wishing death on anyone. I am just saying it would be super ironic.

This is why my word of the year is small.

Sweeney Todd lyrics as motivational posters are the energy I need today.

When I send an email explaining why I'll no longer be shopping somewhere, I sign it "Serve them well and hold their custom, for you'll have none of mine!" Theater kid + activism = vaguely menacing vibes

I don't really know how I'll utilize Bluesky yet, but I do know what I won't be doing here:
1. Nothing about my kids
2. Nothing about my business
3. Not friending strange weird men
4. No dating stuff.

It feels like a place to rage against the dying of the light.

We’ve been sharing articles from experts like @carolecadwalla.bsky.social on practical actions.

Today is a good day to pick one, just one, and #DoSomething.

Taking a step toward more secure communications is one option.

Protect your private life. Seek advice from those who've lived under authoritarianism. Think about what a hostile legal team would do if they had access to your laptop, phone, emails, WhatsApps, Signal messages, Twitter DMs, Google docs. That's literally what happened to me.

The US is going to hell, millions are losing access to health care, kids are losing school meals and head start, there are avian flu crises, tuberculosis outbreaks, and more, and @npr.org is sharing a feel-good story on deep sea diving. WTF?

My seizure meds cost $2000+ a month. One of my kids was recently diagnosed with connective tissue disorder, and needs genetic testing and lots of specialists. Another is autistic. We are all neurodivergent. Trump really does think it's better if disabled people die.

Let me get this straight. Petro calls for dignified transit. Trump threatens tariffs. Petro smacks Trump in a post threatening his own higher tariffs. And Trump agrees to what Petro asked for. And yet NYT is calling this *Petro* backing down?

It took us almost 250 years to realize the Constitution is only as strong as our resolve to protect it.

It was a pretty good run, I guess.

AOC: I don’t care what Elon Musk is doing behind the presidential seal, but in this country we hate Nazis. Kind of like a foundational defining thing. Two of the foundational things about American history is that we beat the confederates and we beat the Nazis.

Loving all the Pittsburgh references on The Pitt, but a character just said yinz and the cc couldn't handle it and translated it to "you both."

Messaged my kid who's a teacher in a city where ICE sweeps are happening and a large immigrant/refugee population at their school. The kids are not OK. Their teachers are not OK. America is NOT OK. But we could be.
Fight. Breathe. Rest. Resist.

Every year I choose a word. Last year's was burn. This year's? Small, inspired by @lin-manuelmiranda.bsky.social and the movie adaptation of In the Heights. ""We had to assert our dignity in small ways... Little details that tell the world we are not invisible."

They aren't "pro-life;" they are anti-choice and pro-forced birth.
They aren't "the party of law and order;" they're pro-grift and cronyism.
And those things he signed weren't "executive orders;" many were unconstitutional edicts from an incredibly flawed man who thinks he is a king

New here and getting the lay of the land. I was finally motivated to start an account by the Facebook blackout this week. Today is a sad, stressful day of mourning for me and my family. But tomorrow? We fight again.
