We found the experiment flags which can be removed to go back to the old YouTube player UI, but that'll stop working when they eventually remove the old implementation

First options for the new player UI coming to Control Panel for YouTube soon

The Play button at wider screen sizes is one of the main problems, as they pushed the progress bar up to make room for it

With this option you can keep using the compact version in default, theater and full screen views
