I fear I have been girl-bossing too close to the sun and I fear even more that I don't know how to stop.

So many new #MedSky and #NurseSky people coming over this week! I'm trying to use this account a little more frequently as I continue my graduate program.

The biggest travesty of being a NICU nurse is that I no longer have access to adult sized warm blankets. They’re tiny receiving blankets and the warmer is at half the temperature 🥲🥲🥲

The absolute terror in the eyes of the NICU nurses I met today when I disclosed that I come from an adult ICU background was very adorable.

I just worked my last shift as a CVICU nurse (at least for the foreseeable future). I've learned more than I could have ever expected these last two years and have grown so much in my practice and skills. At the same time, I have held space for so much pain and suffering. I have nothing to give.

It is now cold enough in my apartment to fully make use of my most favorite duo of purchases for my kindle:
1. Gooseneck stand that clips onto the bed and/or nightstand
2. A little remote to turn the pages

Proceed to turn your kindle sideways so you can read lying down without compromising coziness

Cannot stop thinking about how the device rep for our new external male catheters kept referring to a penis as “The Anatomy™” during last night’s in-service.

What I miss about covid lockdown times is the fantasy that some aspects of society would come from it changed for the better, or that we would learn anything at all.
