I really hate that the "we need to get weirder and make weirder art!!!" got adopted by people who morally panic over a pup hood being worn at pride/furry convention and or harass artists offline for...making weird art?

almost like it's all a performative slogan for people to hide their own bias towards genuinely weird and queer art made by vulnerable members of society dumping their emotions into an art form.

i think you gotta support the weird queers and trans people and sex workers and furries 👍🏾

and no, I don't mean weird art that's surface level made out of performativity like the slogan but rather support that fat furry or weird tgirl artist drawing her trauma out in mixed media or sex workers trying to get by and be their peers instead of having a bias for what makes YOU comfortable
