I believe so, and I'm not sure if there's a way to untag people like you could on long lost Twitter...

Here's hoping they don't mind too much!

It doesn't have to! We can go back to talking about leftist unity in the face of existential threat~

Mission Hill's a funny one. For example, how Gus and Wally are written as real people, in part because subversion to the stereotype *is* the joke? Still: better than expected from most 90s shows

What did you think, overall, if you don't mind me asking?
August 10, 2025 at 12:54 PM
It sure is! Pretty good, too. Aggressively 90s, which is a good thing to my mind. Occasional cartoon violence - it never forgets that it's a cartoon - and some dated scenes rely on stereotype or subversion thereof

But overall, I recommend anyone with 25 minutes spare find the pilot on YouTube

Thank you for this! I hope this satisfies Mission Hill guy; I felt kind of bad being unable to give a reply, but couldn't articulate it this well.

I've already read Marx, no fear. I've also read a couple of essays by Bakunin, Fisher, and Newman, but nowhere near as thoroughly as Kropotkin and Spinoza. Thank you very kindly for the advice - I'll grab these tomorrow!

Which would you recommend reading next, of those in your bio? I've most thoroughly read Kropotkin and Spinoza thus far

When a state falls, it's our job to have explained to the people that they don't need to replace it with another, and that a human collective will benefit everyone.

Tankies tend to see this as delulu, true, but a lot of anarchists came from socialist roots, so I feel many can still be convinced~
August 9, 2025 at 4:20 PM
Yea, but a state is an easy enemy to unify people against. With so many corporations acting essentially as individual sleeper cells, it's kind of hard to unite people against capitalism; the concentration of power that authoritarianism loves is inevitably its downfall.

(Is this a logical position?)
August 9, 2025 at 4:07 PM
First, make no mistake- I admire your moral backbone and conviction.

But, to my mind, capitalism is killing the planet at such a speed I don't really have time to pick my allies in the short term. I don't want to see the entire world die because we couldn't unite to overthrow a few billionaires.
August 9, 2025 at 3:58 PM
I get that; but the right wing is currently such a dominant social paradigm that I absolutely want assume flavour of leftist unity.

To my mind, authcom is probably the final boss before a complete aheirarchal system (but could that be revolutionary communist propaganda I've fallen for?)

I'm engaged in some community outreach, mostly educating people on how to find their way around the bizarre British bureaucracy and helping them learn to use computers and phones to do so. Given it's very local, are you still interested?

If not, just please, keep fighting fascism however you do!
August 6, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Goes for you too, brother. Maybe you are strong enough to not need anarchist allies, but if you ever find that you aren't, I really hope some of us are there to help you.

Keep fighting the good fight, even if you don't respect our version of doing so. ✊
August 6, 2025 at 10:30 PM
We're not your enemies, brother. You might not respect us, but that's a one-way street; we're allies in the fight against the right wing. Slightly different goals, but that's for us to hash out *when we get there*.
