I've got a theory that because of foodborne diseases and parasites no one in history actually took a solid shit until about 1960.

@parkroseperma.bsky.social calls this waffles and pancakes discourse. It’s annoying, but it always makes me hungry 😂

Fun fact: There’s only one third degree dean allowed in each hemisphere. For Dean Dean to rise to the rank of Dean³, he would have to fight the current Dean³ for the title.

True and the number of representatives aligned with his agenda is also small in number.

Con-men in Cars Getting Crappy is the worst reboot idea ever.

To that point, the post right after this one in my feed had a photo of Mike Johnson.

Mike Johnson is like a RPG game character created from a Venn diagram of only uncool traits.

Related: fandom of Tom Waits & Dylan were strong indicators of left leanings, but that came later. The 2016 tale is that Wait fans kept falling on the "wrong" side of a line for desirable targeting. We landed bullseye on a Venn diagram for non-autocratic traits. 2/2

This is from memory. Nothing showed Waits fans being specifically avoided, but we kept landing in undesirable quadrants for 2016 influence campaigns. Can't find that source, but sources galore showing Waits fans at the extreme end of the Openness trait. 1/2 www.technologyreview.com/2018/04/09/1...
Facebook may stop the data leaks, but it’s too late: Cambridge Analytica’s models live on
Long after the training data has been deleted, the models can continue being improved and used to influence future voters.

And FWIW, Real Gone followed by Mule Variations is what sits on my Tom Waits shrine. Mule Variations was my entry point, but had it not been for Napster I might have gone one and done. It let me sample his catalog until I was ready for something as jarring as Real Gone, now my favorite.

Be proud Tom Waits fans. The Cambridge Analytica data correlated being a Tom Waits fan with being difficult to influence thru political messaging. I think that tracks. A lot of us did not love him on first listen and it was a long journey to discover what a revelation he and his music are.

Seriously that’s gotta be worth the gold medal for unintentional self humiliation. He should get that too, maybe also the silver and the bronze too.

Yeah makes it sound like Lowe’s is filing… which would be huge and puzzling because they’re mirror images of each other in most ways.

Allowing other people play designer/developer allowed the bright people understand I didn’t just mechanically sling code and I used that to sell my services.

Maybe AI will repeat this cycle, but not sure I’m as enthusiastic this time. Cleaning up AI slop is so tiresome, infuriating, and expensive.

…DIY WYSIWYG site builders will make Web designers and Web Developers extinct!

Tech changes our landscape, but if the truly dedicated craftspeople simply figure out how to use the changes to our advantage.

Free DIY websites are the reason my solo freelance WebDev career took off 20 yrs ago.

My friend’s dad had a lifelong ambition to be the CEO of a company. Not for the money, because he wanted to be the top dog of something. He eventually got there and hated it because it was more of the same babysitting that he hated when he was in middle management, except the egoes were bigger.

And don't bother coming in my mentions on some "Support our troops!🤡" Jingoistic nonsense. I'm immune to that.

I hire more veterans than you do. I support more unhoused vets than you do. I destigmatize vets getting mental health support, and advocate for suicide prevention more than you do.
