Did Tony Blair influence trial of UK soldiers accused of killing Iraqi man?
Government files suggest former UK prime minister pressured officials to prevent soldiers being tried in civil courts.

Since Trump demanded we all pay more taxes into the war machine those arms companies instead of developing new machines of war are paying shareholders billions. Capitalism can’t fix either healthcare or even warfare.

Astonishingly high cost-of-living in the USA if people struggle to survive on $70,500 and $151,000 a year is needed for rent, food and child care.  And of course there is healthcare too.

Today, French lawmakers unanimously approved a bill exonerating women punished for abortion before it was legalized in 1975.
This "is an act of justice toward those thousands of lives shattered by unjust laws," said Aurore Bergé, minister-delegate for gender equality.

Great to see Andrea Egan win Gen Sec UNISON, the biggest public service union in UK (Andrea pictured with SHA activists protesting low pay). She has a tough task ahead organising and inspiring members to fight back after years of union passivity. We wish her the very best.

I just got a taxi from the train station to home.

The muslim taxi driver told me to have a Happy Christmas. The same way that when it’s Eid, I would say Eid Mubarak.

That’s Luton. That’s the real world.

Some folk would do well to get off X and visit it sometimes.

What depressingly divisive attack lines from the Parliamentary Labour Party. These questions are being briefed to backbenchers to ask ministers.

🚨BREAKING: #NHS patients are outside Wes Streeting's office after waiting 392 days for a meeting.

Meanwhile, Wes has found time to accept £220k+ from private healthcare linked donors.

So today they came to his office and only then did he FINALLY agree to meet with them.

ACA marketplace subsidies, which allowed millions of people to afford private health insurance, are set to expire by the end of this year.

For contractors and freelancers in particular, the expiration of these enhanced subsidies could decide whether or not they can afford health insurance.
For many contractors, losing ACA subsidies means losing health care
The GOP's unprecedented premium hikes put chronically ill workers—especially freelancers—in peril.

The Reform has dropped the act, openly Thatcherite. The Conservatives are copying them to save their skins. The best way to cut support for the authoritarian right is to stand with people against profiteers in water and energy, and give real security.
