This 👆. The movement needs solidarity, not just unity.

Single ownership over anything that requires more than two hands to create or maintain will always, invariably, lead to inequity.
February 3, 2025 at 2:43 AM
when they it is impossible for them to be the sole provider, maintainer, or creator of those things?
February 3, 2025 at 2:40 AM
Therefore, a "leftist" is someone who does not buy into the idea of inherent or uncontrolled property ownership. Personnel property, like cars, houses, books, computers, commodities, those are A-okay! But land, companies, industries? How can one person possibly claim ownership over such things
February 3, 2025 at 2:40 AM
That's why you'll hear lots of "leftists" refer to both conservatives and liberals as just liberals. They both basically operate the same way, and neither of them really care to combat fascism as long as it remains profitable.
February 3, 2025 at 2:36 AM
Which is as I understand it why liberalism and fascism are not mutually exclusive. Liberals don't actually care about cultural fights like abortion, queen rights, immigration, they care about what is legal and what is profitable.
February 3, 2025 at 2:34 AM
That's a great and important question, and I'm honestly not fully equipt to answer it. Obvi its colloquially just an American leftist, which, yeah, mostly includes est-dems. But definitionally, you are also right, I think it basically boils down to property.
February 3, 2025 at 2:30 AM
Let me put it this way, because I don't think we actually disagree: if you think ALL people should be housed, cared for, and educated, then we are on the same side. If there is a law that functions to cause harm, than we will both oppose it. Our methods may differ, but we will both oppose it.
February 2, 2025 at 11:25 PM
Legality is a very weak argument for morality.
February 2, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Not if the laws are in themselves fascistic. But sure, we do need cohesion and organization for a functioning society. America has never been such a place for many minorities. America has committed more genocide on every continent than any nation ever in the history of the world.
February 2, 2025 at 11:20 PM
Lol, true. I haven't reached that hurdle yet, but I'll let you know how it goes. In the mean time, the next round of cocktails are on me 🔥🔥🔥
February 2, 2025 at 11:16 PM
I believe that the only long term, effective counter to a fascist dictatorship, is a real revolutionary dictatorship of the people, a true democracy.
February 2, 2025 at 10:51 PM
I don't think that counters my point. America is a liberal country after all. Why wouldn't the ineffectual nature of liberal ideology be written into the fabric of its constitution? I don't care for the American style of republic, and I despise how easy it is for Trump/Musk to break it.
February 2, 2025 at 10:50 PM
It's because liberal politics is about saying and not doing. Fascists want to get things done. It's time the left decided they also want to get things done.
February 2, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Absolutely! I think that is the right's main goal in all of their propaganda! Turning people against each other and making it feel like we are alone in our thoughts and feelings.
February 2, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Correct. A vast majority of Americans have no concept of cause and effect or historical context, let alone believe in it. We the people shape society, collectively, and the scales are rapidly tipping toward fascism, imo.
February 2, 2025 at 9:15 PM
And I'd agree with them, he was massively ineffectual in most ways, and actively harmful in a some ways. But he WAS better than Trump, and I wish Harris had won. Life was not good for me under Biden, but it's definitely worse under Trump.
February 2, 2025 at 9:06 PM
But that aside, solidarity is always the most important thing. We may disagree in some places, but I know we both agree who the real enemy is, and that's enough for me. You go high, I'll go low.
February 2, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Sure, I think that's very fair. But in turn, I suggest you remain skeptical of any depictions of "violent minorities" or "terrorist groups." The propaganda circuit moves in all directions. It's a living moral code that decides goodness and necessity, not any document or written code.
February 2, 2025 at 9:02 PM
People just want to live, and they just want to live well. The difference between a centrist and a radical leftist is usually a difference in how close one is to having their good life taken away.
