Why am I just now learning of the existence of crosshare? I could quibble with some of how it works but I love the idea of a community driven crossword platform.
Please support Crosshare. It's a great platform for crosswords that is getting better every year.

With the disappointing news out of Amuse Labs this week that they have built an AI agent for creating crossword puzzles, we want to reiterate: there is no AI at Crosswordr. We do not train models on your content.

We're about supporting and empowering constructors, and have been since day one.

Fermat's Last Theorem is a famous example of a question which can be stated using only naturals and whose proof requires a lot of machinery.

But in fact the AM-GM inequality, just for ℕ, can be stated purely using ℕ (clear denoms, raise everything to n'th power). Is there a simple proof avoiding ℝ?

Just listened to the 10 Oct 2025 episode of @theairshowpodcast.com and it cracks me up that they don't talk down to us by defining RASM, CASM, etc. but they do think micrometers are too scary ("half a millimeter" would also work, depending on what thickness of human hair you use)

I'm writing about nonincreasing sequences of zeroes and ones. So you could have all zeroes, all ones, a one followed by zeroes, two ones followed by zeroes, etc. (Here a sequence is a function from ω, the set of natural numbers, to { 0 , 1 }). How many such sequences are there?

I just love short green milkweed (Asclepias viridiflora), which has been a part of the native flora in all but one of the states I've lived (IA, KS, AZ, and WI, but not OR). I saw it in all of those states (in AZ, the Flagstaff area). It's a slow plant, a conservative plant, and old-growth plant. 1/

I don't have a dog in the "who's gonna be the new pope" fight but for crosswording purposes, some cardinals whose names have very valuable letter combinations but haven't appeared in crosswords yet include ERDO (that's a big one), TAGLE, OUELLET, and PAROLIN. www.huffpost.com/entry/next-p...
These Cardinals Are Seen As Contenders To Be The Next Pope
Even though cardinals don’t campaign for the job, there are always front-runners going into a conclave to choose the next pope.

When I started making crosswords in 2003 it was a community of a certain kind of weirdo. Since then there have been several waves of new kinds of weirdo and now it’s a special intergenerational weirdo community. Truly just a big win for humanity.

Will Shortz makes a dramatic entrance to the #ACPT #ACPT2025 by walking from the back of the ballroom (rather than wheelchair as last year).

Saw some scaffolding in New York and all I could think of is <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:orw2ozs2ujhagv7jp4iv5552" class="hover:underline text-blue-600 dark:text-sky-400 no-card-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-link="bsky-mention">@marklevinenyc.bsky.social @marklevinenyc and his efforts to keep scaffolding from being permascaffolding. Of note: there seems to be some work going on here!

I don't know whether everyone is getting these mugs or just people matching some obscure criteria, but I'm a fan of my prize I got when arriving for the #ACPT #ACPT2025 (incidentally the ACPT is not yet trending on this network which means we have work to do).
