This, theydies and gentlethems, is why you wrap your power tubes in 2-4 layers of bubble wrap and then tuck them snugly inside the cabinet before shipping an amp. Not a huge deal, but kind of a bummer. New pair of KT66’s on order, will hopefully receive by the weekend.
I’m holding a KT66 vacuum tube that worked itself out of the tube socket during shipping. The glass is heavily cracked and there is what looks like a tiny bullet hole near the base of the tube.
