Today's #balletclipoftheday is William Forsythe's The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude. A 1996 ballet set to Franz Schubert's Symphony no9, notorious for its complicated choreography

Tonight, the #balletclipoftheday is the king of ballet, Mikhail Baryshnikov, from the 1977 film The Turning Point. My fav bit is when we see the pov of the corps dancers, seeing so up close the intimacy of his dancing, framed by the stage lights. Happy birthday Misha, I love you so much

Before the day ends, this is the #balletclipoftheday! Onegin, by John Cranko, performed by the Royal Opera House. This Tchaikovsky music is from The Seasons, not related to his opera Eugene Onegin, even though both are about the same Russian classic

Today for #Balletclipoftheday, I bring you Maria Tallchief, the first American prima ballerina, here with Andre Eglevsky in Balanchine's Scotch Symphony

Frederic Franklin staged an adaptation of the Petipa choreography, and Arthur Mitchell set it on a small black community of farmers, the likes of which free black people established in South Louisiana in the 1840's, specifically in Plaquemine Parish.

A moment for Creole Giselle. Today's #balletclipoftheday is Arthur Mitchell's version of this classic for Dance Theater of Harlem. Filmed in 1987 with Lorraine Graves as Myrtha. Creole Giselle takes place in Louisiana in the early 1840's, evoking the oak trees and the shimmering of the swampy dusk

Since I watch a lot of ballet as it is, I might as well share it! This is Australian Ballet in Ashton's The Dream. #ballet #balletclipoftheday #balletsky
Some people argue this first step for the fairies is a Fred step. A step that Frederick Ashton added to each one of his ballets.

I've been in a Tchaikovsky kick all year, that's why I made a new Nutcracker and this is the best season to be a Tchaikovsky stan so the #balletclipoftheday #balletsky is The Waltz of the Snowflakes danced here by the artists of the Royal Ballet. Like, where did he get off composing this?

For the #balletclipoftheday #balletsky I want to start sharing some Tchaikovsky with Nutcracker season starting. The Grand Pas de Deux in Act 2, performed here by Cesar Corrales and Yasmine Nagdhi from the Royal Ballet. This is the Ivanov choreography from 1892, on the Peter Wright production
