The southern half of that route was more or less my recovery ride today. I had almost stopped riding in the UK, fed up with dealing with traffic and crap infrastructure, but since moving here I go for a ride almost every day. Such a fantastic place for cycling.

It should be done on a per-capita basis for it to have any meaning wrt measuring relative uptake.
e.g. population of China ~25 times larger than Spain, so proportionally very similar share of new solar.
All the current graphic says is that China is bigger.

That'd be at the lower end of the scale across Western Europe. Somebody in minimum wage also would not have to spend anything on health or education and would have large discounts on myriad other services
